Overview

When your child is checked into or checked out of a program on ActivityHero, we can send you a text and/or email letting you know — and you can look up the full check-in/check-out history for any registration at any time.

This article walks you through what those alerts look like, how to view your child's Sign-In/Sign-Out Record, and how to turn alerts on or off.

Getting Sign-In/Sign-Out Alerts

If you have notifications turned on, you'll get an alert every time a check-in or check-out is recorded for your child:

• Text message: “AHero: [Child's name] was checked into [Program]. Details: [link].”
• Email: names who checked your child in or out, and links to the full Sign-In/Sign-Out Record and to your communication preferences.

Viewing Your Child's Attendance Record

1. Log in to your ActivityHero account.
2. Go to My Registrations.
3. Find your child's registration and select Sign-In/Sign-Out Record.
4. Enter a From and To date and select Apply to see a specific date range, or select Download to save a copy.

Each row shows the date, the check-in time and who checked your child in, and the check-out time and who checked your child out — along with a signature, if one was collected.

Turning Alerts On or Off

You can manage alerts in two places.

Quick toggle for one child: from your child's Sign-In/Sign-Out Record, select the bell icon in the top right, then use the “Get alerts for [Child]” toggle to turn alerts on or off for that registration.

Full settings for all children: go to My Account > Communication Preferences.

1. Choose how you want to be notified — Both, Email, or Text.
2. Under Sign-In/Sign-Out Notifications, check or uncheck the box for each child and registration, or select Edit Individual Registrations to update more than one at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't see a checkbox for one of my child's registrations — why?

That program is not active or is not using Sign In/Sign Out notifications yet, so there's no attendance activity to alert you about.

If I turn off alerts, can I still see the attendance record?

Yes. The Sign-In/Sign-Out Record is always available under My Registrations, whether or not alerts are turned on.

Can I get alerts by text only?

Yes — choose Text under “How should you be notified?” on the Communication Preferences page.

Who can check my child out?

Program staff, or any parent, guardian, or pickup contact authorized on your registration. Whoever completes the check-out is named in the Checked-Out by column.
